About The Kings:

The Kings, formed in Vancouver, British Columbia and Oakville, Ontario, Canada, are no strangers to fame and glory . The original members included David Diamond, lead vocals/bass guitar; Sonny Keyes, vocals and keyboards; Max Styles, drums; and Mister Zero, guitar. Sonny, Max and Mister Zero were all contributing songwriters. The Kings, originally known as WhistleKing, have an amazing success story that most bands dream of that includes Billboard charting success and worldwide television appearances. After three years of paying their dues, the band went into Nimbus 9 Studio in Toronto to record their first album. While recording, world famous producer Bob (Pink Floyd) Ezrin dropped by to visit, liked what he heard, and agreed to mix their tracks. As history would have it, he approached Elektra Records in Los Angeles with The Kings’ tapes and the unknown band was signed to a world-wide deal. The Kings project (which was re-recorded) was released as "The Kings Are Here". Radio success soon followed. Their first single, ‘Switchin’ To Glide’, was put out as a single, but the tune was really two songs in one so the band insisted they be released together and the segue ‘This Beat Goes On/Switchin’ To Glide’ got noticed in a big way. Even at over five minutes in length, the segue caught on all over the USA and Canada with huge airplay in every major market; the seque stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for six months and was named one of the Top 100 U.S. It was selected for ‘Radio Programmers Picks of the Decade’ by Album Network Magazine and The Kings were named the most promising group by Cashbox Magazine; they were also nominated for a Juno Award. An amazing appearance on Dick Clark’s ‘American Bandstand’ helped spread the music worldwide.

The album ‘The Kings Are Here’ went gold in Canada, and since it was re-released on cd as ‘The Kings Are Here and More’, combined sales passed platinum status. The second Ezrin produced Elektra effort ‘Amazon Beach’ did not fare as well and the band left the label and signed with Capitol Canada which released ‘RSVP’ which contains the holiday classic ‘This Christmas’ which receives extensive airplay every yuletide season.

Studio projects that followed included ‘Unstoppable’ which reached the Top 10 in Canada. Next, the studio album “Because of You”, showcased the depth and versatility of The Kings’ songwriting and "Anthology One", a collection of rare, early unreleased tracks, became known as The Kings amazing "Live Trilogy." "The Lost Tapes of a Seventies Bar Band" and "Party Live in '85" (released audio only) and the DVD, "No Covers-Live at O'Tooles Roadhouse, document the energy of the band in concert.

The famous documentary about the band's biggest hit, "Anatomy of a One-Hit Wonder", offers an inside look at fast success with a charting single; the guys tell their own story with trademark candor and humor.

The Kings are currently featured on National Indie Radio (WNIR) where they are receiving heavy rotation. For more information, please visit The Kings website.
